Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet.
Lier is a lovely town, the streets are clean and quiet. There is a lot of history here and the canals and waterways are very beautidul. There is something for everyone, the town square is surrounded by good restaurants, the buildings are interesting and full of history. If you like walking or cycling there are plenty of well marked trails and an abundance of wildlife in the rivers and canals. You can take a boat trip in the old flat bottomed eel boatsand the guides are very knowledgable and interesting. There are good transport links witht he station being on the edge of town, just a 15 minute walk into the centre. The town Hall is a beautiful building. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Lier is a very pretty town with an interesting history and...
Lier is a very pretty town with an interesting history and it is only a 20 minute train ride away from Antwerp. It is easy to walk between the various sites like the town hall and the beginnage and the Great Church. There was a small museum near to my hotel with some history and art related to the town that I also thought was interesting. A really beautiful little town, lots of lovely walks, superb and historic architecture. Shops, cafes and restaurants with friendly and welcoming residents. Location can not be better, set in the old town, very close to restaurants, pubs and touristic attractions, but still very tranquil. We had a nice view of the garden. Room was super comfortable, with a bathtub, bathrobes, sleepers... Breakfast was spectacular, with longer hours during the weekend stay as well as with later check out.
