Angra is a good place to stay for 1-3 days before going to Ilha Grande. If you stay in an apartment in Piratas Mall, as we did, you are 5 blocks away from the Bus station, where you can take a bus to Paraty. And also 25 minutes away from the Port, Santa Lucia, where you can buy excursions to the islands, which are beautiful. Paradise started here! I guess there is no other description to the place. Where can I start it? Its millions of islands and beaches with foaming greenish water? The forest that ends up right at the beach? Or all the fauna you can find just swimming in ANY beach (like turtles, fish, crabs, corals, you name it!) The air conditioning in the bedroom was very good, which guaranteed us a good night sleep. Also the city of Angra dos Reis felt safe and the beaches were super beautiful. The staff at Best View was super nice and extremely helpful.
