Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.
Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground to the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, movie theaters and food courts.
From there, the metro will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.

We did a lot in the short time we were there. Catching a ship for a cruise to Boston and spent a few days beforehand seeing the sights of Montreal. The only place I did not enjoy was the trip to Montmorency Falls as in September water flow was not so great so very underwhelming. Great casino. Percy Walter’s Park was nearby and so pet friendly! Miss the carriages in Old Montreal, should be a way to see that area without having to WALK. ( we’re getting older). Best city in Canada forrestaurants, attractions.Traffic on Metropolitain is out of control. When speed limit is 70km per hr, I do 80 km per hr. Others go 100+ km per hr. When speed limit is 100 km per hr, others go 130+ km per hr, No police anywhere enforcing speed limit - day or night. Metropolitain is a death trap. I witnessed accidents in both directions. We used Montreal, as a base. We are not normally city people, But I must say that our visit was lovely.. We visited the Parc Jean-Drapeau, The Botanical Gardens and also we went to Mount Royal which was just behind our accommodation. The people in the city were very helpful, and very friendly, especially when we tried to use the public transport. This question is not possible to answer since everyone is looking for something different. I expected it to be more French French but it was not, rather it just had its own character that we did not find especially appealing. Very quite no noise, if you are travelling and you are looking to get easily in the centre, there is the bus service from airport to the hotel. 3 minute walk from the hotel every 10-15 minute you will get the bus to the airport. Perfect location; everything is close like supermarket, mall, downtown. Staffs were friendly, they will make your stay comfortable do not hesitate to ask for help.
