This was my favourite hotel during our honeymoon trip! The owners are kind and friendly. They decorated our room beautifully with a giant balloon, some sweets and a heartwarming card after learning it was our honeymoon. We also enjoyed the beautiful lake and mountain views outside the hotel. It is located 1 stop away from Interlaken Ost so you can get more peace and privacy away from crowds. 8-10 min walk with heavy luggages to the station. The breakfast was great, loved the hummus, cheese and variety of bread. There’s no mocha but the owner kindly asked what it’s like and made it for me, it was delicious. Thank you very much! I highly recommend this hotel for its wonderful hospitality and great views!

The location is perfect, it feels like it's at the end of the main street. The view from the balcony is gorgeous. The breakfast has many types of local cheeses. I arrived at 8pm but I had the key ready with a welcome message and instructions. I liked that the room had a painting of the old train station and the hallway had 19th century furniture! And old pictures of Wengen in the hallways. Snacks and drinks in the lobby. I liked that I received a mini Gipfelwiiss in the room, which is a chocolate bar in the shape of the 4 snow-capped peaks (Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Silberhorn) and is produced in Wengen at the Vincenz Bäckerei - Konditorei on the main street.

Compliments to the chef and its team - they manage to surprise us every day, Extremely helpful staff in general & cosy atmosphere. If you are coming to visit the Interlaken region in specific Grindelwald First, Jungfraujoch and other near by attractions you need to stay in the mountain region, do not stay in Interlaken, it is a city too much overloaded with tourists. If you stay in Interlaken you are going to have to wake up earlier, get a very overloaded train to reach the atttractions. Now, in the mountain region, I find Wengen is the best pick, because you can go with gondola or train anywhere you wish, the view is amazing, the city is small and safe and yet you have all you need there. Braunbar hotel has an amazing view, the decoration is very wellcoming, the room is comfortable and has a great bathroom with a bathtub, it is in front of the gondola station and very near the train station, has restaurants and supermarket very near by, and has a big swimming pool with warmed water which was amazing for my 10 years old daughter. The breakfast was the best one of 4 hotels I stayed in Switzerland. If you stay in the mountain region you get earlier to the parks as all the tourists that stay in Interlaken and your day is more productive, you get more rest and time to take advantage of the hotel pool and amazing view after a full day in the attractions. If you stay in the region you get a voucher for mini-golf, tennis, village swimming pool, it is simply amazing, with only 15 min you reach many other villages and can visit them all including Lauterbrunnen, Mannlichen, among others. While Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen are also crowdy with tourists, even though less than Interlaken, Wengen has a real mountain village environment. I enjoyed my stay very much.

    Bönigen is lovely as it’s quiet and peaceful but it’s very easy to get to Interlaken centre to do day trips in the area. There is plenty to do also right in Bonigen there are lots of water activities and trails. It’s beautiful the lake is stunning. We did not have a car this house is fully accessible by public transport and food can be bought in the local shops or the big supermarket in Interlaken Ost the station you will pass through when you make any trips outside Bonigen.

    Location is absolutely picturesque with Lake Brienz just across the road. Lovely to take an evening walk or have a picnic by the lake. We just felt so relaxed. All stress just melts away. A short bus ride from the train station and can get a bit crowded due to the popularity of the area and the frequency of the bus. So leave early for any sightseeing at Interlaken and check the SBB mobile app for the bus timings. Advice - Leave early in the morning if you are going to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken, in summer.

    A dream like place, lacks the hustle and bustle of city life...yet close to the main train station Interlaken ost...a few minutes by 103 bus..the bus stop was few metres walking distance from the property Boningen beside Lake Brienz is such a serene place .. people who enjoy nature..can spend a couple of days here and get rejuvenated..a quiet reading by the lake..ya a quick swim..ya a simply coffee by the lakeside bench... Boningen makes your wishlist come true

    A good place to base ourselves for a short stay. We walked along Wanderweg paths following the river into Interlaken. A very pleasant walk 👍 Would be a good base for exploring the Brienz Interlaken Grindelwald area by motorcycle, or car, or local buses and trains.

    Stay facing the lake, Boningen is well connected to Interlaken and an ideal place to stay for the best views. It also allows elderly people to stay as they dont have to climb steep roads that you would see in Murren or Grindelwald or Wengen.

    It was so clean and feels like home.

    It was so clean and feels like home. We cooked dinner and breakfast with ease. Complete with coffee pods and basic condiments. Recommended for you next travel. We really enjoyed our stay. We went winter and bus run every hour. No problem for us as we only need to take that bus once. You can opt to wlk for 22 mins to interlaken ost. The bathroom has no lock again no problem for us as we are family. We just knock before entering. Maybe the only problem we had was throwing rubbish away. Quite confusing where to put it
