FAQs about hotels in Zürich

Take a Fresh Look at Zurich

As the financial capital of Switzerland and headquarters of several large companies including FIFA, there’s a good chance that if you’re in Zurich you’re here on business. But that doesn’t mean this city doesn’t have a playful side.

Known for its cleanliness and fresh air, it comes as no surprise that the luxurious ski resorts of the Alps are within an easy distance of both the city and Zurich Airport, which is only a 12 minute drive from the city centre.

The centre is also a fast-growing cultural hub, packed with art galleries and museums. The Swiss history museum is called Landesmuseum and the Kunsthaus houses some of the most important pieces of art owned by Switzerland. For an interesting combination of art and culture, check out the Fraumünster, a gothic church with window paintings attributed to Marc Chagall.

During the day, the Lindenhof hill offers a stunning vista of the heart of the old town, Niederdorf, which is filled with shopping avenues, winding alleyways and restaurants. At night the many club doors open offering a range of live music and DJs.

When your busy day ends, Booking.com has your accommodation needs covered with over 140 business hotels and apartments available.

Took a tour to Mt.

Took a tour to Mt. Figi and Lucerne in getting to the tour departure location, we took the tram though town as recommended by the hotel staff. Another couple almost missed the tour because they took an Uber and got stuck in traffic. The Lake was beautiful. Zurich is also great for walking and we always felt safe there.

We found it easy to navigate the city using the efficient tram system. We were able to take several guided bus tours around the city and surrounding areas including the cable car to the Felsenegg. We also visited the Lindt Factory and the FIFA Museum. It was easy to combine the two by taking the train to Kilchberg first to visit Lindt and then stopping at the Enge station on the way back to Zurich to visit the FIFA Museum. The FIFA Museum is directly opposite the station while the Lindt visit required an 11 minute walk from the station with the smell of chocolate wafting through the air all the way.

City tour and Chocolate factory visit was good and gave an overview of the city to then allow us to explore the rest by ourselves. The Swiss rail network is excellent and is recommended for sightseeing outside of the city. Use the SBB mobile app it allows for good journey planning.

Zürich is one of the main airport’s in Swizerland, two days is more than enough in Zurich, it is a very busy city day and night, if we do Swizerland again we will give Zurich a skip and visit the country side more relaxing, if it is your first time visit Swizerland give Zurich a go.

We purchased a 72 hour Zurich card and used it for trains, trams, boats on Lake Zurich, cable car and even got free entry to the FIFA Museum. Well worth the £53 each. Some great sights in the city. A visit to the nearby Lindt factory in Kilchberg was well worth a visit for the free chocolate alone! Eating out was quite expensive but we found snacks in supermarkets were fairly cheap. Be aware that 95% of shops are closed on Sunday.

Walking distance from the main train station, which is the hub for travel. You can travel from there to any place in Zurich as well as Switzerland. Also walking distance from a large supermarket and many bars and restaurants. The no 10 tram stops right in front of the hotel and this is the tram you can take from the airport. Very convenient. This tram also also take you to the main train station. The staff is very very friendly and helpful and are doing a great job.

This hotel is in such a great location, especially if you are travelling to/from the railway station, which is literally just across the bridge. This was a perfect place for us to stay one night at the beginning of our tour of Switzerland. The view from the room window over the city (and mountains far away) was great. It is incredibly easy to walk from the hotel to all the main places in Zurich, the old town etc. Breakfast was really lovely.

The trams are a 1minute walk away.easy to get to any location in the city. 15 minutes to the main railway station another 15 minutes to the airport from there. I recommend buying the Zurich pass online covers trains trams and. Buses it costs 27 francs for one Day or 53francs for three days. Only for second class travel on trains.

A very good hotel with very comfortable rooms, very close to all means of transportation, in front of the main train station, and 10 minutes by train from Zurich Airport. It overlooks Bahnhof Street. A comfortable and beautiful experience, and I will book it again when I return to Zurich.
