Away from the hustle and bustle busy and noisy Ancient City, nestled in the quiet hillside neighborhood, where convenient stores and restaurants are within walking distance. Yet near enough to reach all the Old City blocks has to offer. The rooms are big. And most conveniently, a help yourself laundry facility.

I can't find the words to describe how perfect my stay was. The room was immaculate, the bedding extremely comfortable. The toiletries were top of the range. And the breakfasts... absolutely delicious! Located 2 minutes from the center, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing stay in Shaxi. The host, Lynn, was lovely and always helpful to this French tourist who doesn't speak Chinese (me)! She also sells pottery featuring the local cat mascot: Wa Mao. If I wasn't backpacking for six months, I would have loved to buy some, they're so cute. Just go! ☀️

Wonderful stay with lovely friendly family. The owner Da Hua did everything he could to make our stay as amazing and memorable as possible. Our family of 4 stayed at the Beautiful Bugu family rooms with amazing views, every detail has been taken into consideration to make their place also as environmentally friendly as possible, from the materials of the guest house to their freshly hand picked herbal tea, from the organic ingredients for shampoos and body wash, to home made food all from scratch, sourced from their gardens and next door neighbours’. Simply amazing experience- 5 star professional service with passionate and personal touch from the owner Da Hua. Dahua took care of us from the point of collections to the airport drop off. His wife is talented chef from western pastry to Chinese dishes they are all beautifully made and loved by the whole family. Da Hua’s son, a lively cute little boy who played games and shared toys with our kids, which added unexpected joy to the trip. During our stay Da Hua took us to the Shaxi old town, to a boat trip in a beautiful lake, the kids managed to take little train journey, fed the monkey in shibaoshan, fed and milked the goat at the neighbour’s house. What memorable experience! We will be back! Next time would like Da Hua to take us to explore the stone caves, hiking and camping and simply staying there for a while to be totally immersed in the local culture. Thank you!
