The accommodations where wonderful, and decorated with loads of love. It was run by a family. Even though we didn’t speak any Spanish, we found a way to converse… there was a will and therefore a way! It was wonderful! The area was amazing, we have seen a lot of animals such as different kind of Monkeys, Tucans and Aras and many more. The place is located very close to the sea, so the sounds of the waves were our lullaby.

Drake Bay is a remote yet breathtaking destination, and our stay at Natural Drake Bay Hotel made our visit truly unforgettable. We spent four nights here as the final leg of our Costa Rica trip, hoping to find a comfortable place that would enhance our experience of this faraway corner of the world. I’m thrilled to say we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Natural Drake Bay is a family-run hotel situated in a stunning location, perched perfectly to offer beautiful views of the bay. Both the pool and restaurant offer stunning views of the bay, creating a mesmerizing scene —at one point, we even saw whales jumping from the water! The beach is also just a 3 minute walk. Patricia, Daniel, and their team, particularly Victor, provide a luxurious experience. Throughout our stay, we felt very well cared for. Everyday, when you arrive, Patricia welcomes you with refreshing, beautifully scented cold towels, which is a wonderful treat after a hot day. Victor then serves the most exquisite fruit juices I’ve ever tasted. Even when activities (Corcovado Park visit, Snorkeling in Caño Island, ….) started at the crack of dawn, they were there to prepare breakfast for you The hotel takes great pride in highlighting local cuisine at dinner, with top quality produce exquisitely cooked. The rooms offer views of the surroundings, which were full of life (Birds, Iguanas, Monkeys) and relaxing in the hammocks was a spectacle in itself. Toucans would perch in the tree next to the cabin, while showering. The toiletries were of high quality, adding to the overall sense of luxury. In summary, Natural Drake Bay Hotel provided us with an exceptional experience, combining comfort, natural beauty, and warm hospitality.

We stayed here for the last two days of our honeymoon. It was the cherish on top. Very warm welcoming by Hellen and Steven and family. They took good care of us, making sure we had all the equipment for our tour in Corcovado national park and arranged the tour and transportation. The room was very nice, clean and private with a fantastic view. We saw a lot of animals close by. The food was outstanding! The best stay we had during our honeymoon in Costa Rica.

Amazing lodge in the centre of the jungle but still close to Drake Bay Town. Located in the joungle we could see tucans, parrots, dozens of monkeys just setting in the lodge or taking the shower :) it was very exciting to be so close to the nature. Drive by car to the Town taken 10 minute by dirty Road so car is useful. There is a lovely isolated beach half way. You will get the directions from the Lodge owner. At the lodge the host offers traditional food for brakfast and dinners of take awans at really competitive Price. In the Town there is also a variety of restaurants and bars. Amazing experience of being isolated in the jungle but at the same time so close to the town. Rooms really clean and property very tidy and clean.

It is even prettier than in photos. The pool is spectacular thanks to the wild environment. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was varied. The hotel is very well maintained. The location is good, close to the beach up a steep hill and close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The food is delicious and the girls in the restaurant are incredible, they treated us with all the love and kindness of Ticos, always going above and beyond to help us. We would love to return to this hotel as it was one of our best lodging experiences during our trip to Costa Rica. We feel that for the price we paid, we got much more than in other accommodations.

The room was perfect and the A/C was very nice :) I had a warm welcoming, then they helped me to store my luggage while I was away on a Corcovado Tour. And they helped me to find a taxi very quickly when I needed ! Do not change anything it was PERFECT !

we were very happy with our stay at casa Gitana! Jonathan and Edith were very warm and kind with us, we were treated as we were part of the family :) They got us everything we need ready, as for example the tours to Corcovado and snorkelling in caño island. They also work as a restaurant, and you should give it a try, you will want to have every meal there.

    Central location, comfortable room.

    Central location, comfortable room. The pool was really lovely to sit near and relax, cool off. Staff was exceptional and helpful in all manners. Receptionist helped me book all of my activities and was super accommodating. The restaurant staff were so friendly, and even remembered my name after I came a few times. Very convenient to have on site. It had everything I coud want and price was reasonable. I already want to go back and will book there again.

    It was very remote.

    It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

    Fantastic stay.

    Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

    Very nice peaceful place, at the grounds of a friendly costarican family, right on the edge of the rainforest. Beautiful Ganadito beach is at walking distance. The cabin where we slept was new and fine.

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe. The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves.     Beautiful hotel with fantastic food. Lovely staff we felt really pampered. Hotel has its own beach with suspension walkway. So much wildlife amazing views across bay from restaurant area. Organised a trip to national park accessed by speedboat a night tour and a snorkelling trip. Seemed expensive when booked but definitely worth it we would stay again one of nicest hotels in Costa Rica.

    Great views for breakfast, nice staff, and great location for being in Drake Bay. The breakfast for 10$ was really nice (I recommend the typical breakfast!). The AC was nice and needed, and you could easily book tours and a taxi through the hotel. The staff was very helpful and accommodating and the garden area around the hotel was very nice.

    we had a family room up on a hill with a most amazing view of the bay and sunsets and a lovely outside area. The food in the restaurant was really good and we went on a great trip organised by the hotel. The rooms themselves were not luxurious but the surroundings were truly fantastic; we all had a fabulous time and were sad to leave.

    Beautiful location a short boat ride away from the main Drake Bay hotels etc. The central cabana with bar / restaurant was a great place to hang out and let the world slide on by. Food was good and the restaurant staff were a credit to the place.
