A great spot in a beautiful location. The hotel has a great view of the surrounding scenery. We saw so much just sitting at the breakfast bar - including a hummingbird. The beach is pretty much private (apart from macaws!) and stunning. Food was great too as well as the staff. Don’t hesitate to book. Our stay was a great start to our family holiday and one we will always remember.

Our family just wrapped up a 3 night stay at Hidden Paradise lodge and it was a dream. Beautiful, authentic and just perfect for what we wanted as a family. The staff are so kind, attentive, helpful and true pura vida vibes. We loved every breakfast and dinner so much. The pool was fabulous! Mariela, Jorge and Ryan helped us organize our day trips and we were extremely pleased!! We will be back!

It was clean, the staff was friendly, the room was private, and the hammocks on our private porch were so relaxing. Happy hour at the pool was a great way to finish a busy day of hiking. The pool was always fairly quiet because there are not a ton of rooms at the location.

Well maintained rooms and grounds. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Very clean. Spacious. 2 overhead fans plus a standing fan so we slept very well at night, never too hot. Large overhead roof so we could sit outside on our deck even in the heaviest rain. Coffee pot in room. Remember to plan to bring drinking water from the dining room. Food was amazing! 3 choices for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was ordered off the menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We happened to be in a “family room” which included a hammock and large table and chairs on the deck. We stayed in Room 1. I highly recommend it. There are many steps to climb from the center of the resort and room 1 and 2 reached first. You MUST be able to climb steps.

    Central location, comfortable room.

    Central location, comfortable room. The pool was really lovely to sit near and relax, cool off. Staff was exceptional and helpful in all manners. Receptionist helped me book all of my activities and was super accommodating. The restaurant staff were so friendly, and even remembered my name after I came a few times. Very convenient to have on site. It had everything I coud want and price was reasonable. I already want to go back and will book there again.

    It was very remote.

    It was very remote. We spent three nights there and enjoyed early active mornings and chill afternoons with an early dinner and bedtimes. There's not much to do at night which was fine by us. We loved watching the town wake up in the morning. We went diving at Cano Island and loved the turtles and all of the varieties of fish. The water was so clear when we went, it was one of the better diving experiences in Costa Rica so far!

    Fantastic stay.

    Fantastic stay. Exactly as described except wifi didn't work in our room, we had to go to the office/breakfast area to use it. The views from the room were spectacular overlooking Drake Bay. We had daily visits from capuchins, macaws, parrots, hummingbirds, etc The beds were comfortable as were the chairs and hammocks on the porch. Handrails going up the steep tire steps to the room would have been helpful. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and made to order.

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national...

    Great place to stay if you want to visit Corcovado national park. Not only Corcovado is worthwhile but Drake Bay itself as well. I would recommend taking the boat from Sierpe to Drake Bay as it’s very convenient and the boat ride is extremely scenic!

    Very nice peaceful place, at the grounds of a friendly costarican family, right on the edge of the rainforest. Beautiful Ganadito beach is at walking distance. The cabin where we slept was new and fine.

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you...

    The flora and fauna of adjacent parks is amazing but you must visit them with a guide for the appropriate access and to really appreciate what is there. Drake is a the ideal place from which to reach the parks. We travelled to Drake Bay by intercity bus from San Jose and connected with the ferry. The "wet landing" was a first for us - a genuine adventure where the ferry assistants wade your luggage to shore on their shoulders and the passengers just focus on getting themselves to shore. The ferry takes an hour or so through amazing mangroves. Make sure to tell your hotel to book you on the ferry to avoid misunderstanding -- there are only two ferries per day and you don't want to lose a day/night in Sierpe. The park is amazing --book a tour well in advance as daily entries are limited. Access to the park is by boat. Birds galore, several species of monkey including the mighty howler, tapirs, two species of ant eater, and many more creatures. We did the snorkeling tour too which was also amazing. We saw deep sea turtles, sharks, manta rays and a plethora of species of fish. Beautiful, pristine and rules about not interrupting wildlife. For example, we were watching a turtle and she started to rise for air and we all had to move back 4-6 metres and we had the joy of then watching her float on the surface for a while and just rock in the waves.     Perfect place in drake's bay the staff are super nice the place has a lovely cozy atmosphere. Our AC was broken so Mauricio upgraded us at check in and the room was fantastic. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. The place has a nice location just off the main street of drake's bay and a nice place to spot birds. They also have a water filter for clean water which is really handy. They also can do laundry for you at a very good price which is unusual. Thanks team for the lovely stay.

    It was lovely to receive a surprise room upgrade! The room had a great view of the beach and we enjoyed chilling in there. Free tea and coffee at all times was appreciated. Room was spacious and hot water shower worked well. Staff in the kitchen were so lovely and packed us a lunch for our day walk. Location was perfect, close enough to walk to town but far enough that we saw scarlet macaws in the trees! It was so convenient that all the boats dropped us and picked us up right outside the hotel.

    Amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, property looked after your luggage when you check out if you’re spending nights in Corcovado. Amazing view from the balcony of Drakes Bay and beach. Walking to your meeting point 200m away for all boat transfers to Corcovado and short walk to restaurant and supermarkets. Toucans and beautiful birds everywhere! Air con was great.

    Serenity & tranquility just outside of the hustle and bustle of Drake. I loved that the cabinas are built within nature and we could watch so many birds from our balcony. The team were lovely. And it was very convenient having dinner at the property.

    Beautiful location a short boat ride away from the main Drake Bay hotels etc. The central cabana with bar / restaurant was a great place to hang out and let the world slide on by. Food was good and the restaurant staff were a credit to the place.
