Playa Flamingo is an awesome destination, with a Marina, convenient nearby restaurants, grocery stores, beaches that will blow your mind. The people are friendly and love their country and culture. They are very proud of who they are and their culture which is family oriented. The food is the best and you have a varied selection of restaurants from beach side to the top of the mountain with scenic view you will never forget. What a wonderful county I would live there. We visited in May the beginning of the rainy season, however I believe it was the best time. The country comes alive, green and lush. The beached, restaurants are not overcrowded, if you have a rain shower it's gentle and mostly in the evening. My wife & I will definitely return. We met several Americans that have visited Playa Flamingo several times, then decided to live there. I'm telling you, go there, you will not regret a moment. We stayed at Splendor 360, which is I believe the highest accommodations in the area. Splendor 360's condos are amazing with views as they say, 360 degrees from the marina to the beaches. Coming back to a beach I had not visited in years, and putting it on my Top 3 beaches in Costa Rica, after 3 visits in a month and a half, is the best way to summarize how much I loved being back, and enjoy my time in Flamingo. Yes, with so many options, when it comes to beaches, it is no easy task to make up one's mind about which ones make the list of favorites. It’s a quiet and relaxing area to visit.
It’s a quiet and relaxing area to visit. It’s very hot and very sunny and there’s not much shade on the beach. Be prepared to go through the sunscreen. The beach is clean, the sand is soft and white and the ocean is a spectacularly blue. The surf can be quite rough and it can be difficult to swim, so use caution.Guest review byJen - 10.0
The beach was beautiful.

The room was spotless clean and the bed was big and comfortable. The hostess, Susan, is really nice and she will make sure everything will go by the book. The location is excellent and the neighbourhood really safe. This hotel is located just 5 min away (walking distance) from the beach. Agnes and Pierre are fantastic hosts who cannot do enough for you, and who are warm and friendly without being overly intrusive. Pierre is an amazing baker who filled us with the most delicious fresh bread and pastries each morning whilst Agnes is so lovely and helpful - she even offered to do washing for us. The rooms are really comfortable and well appointed - great showers and the best hotel bed we have ever encountered in all our years of travelling!
