There's enough to see in the city for one day, but for additional days best to find some activities. We did some rafting on the Vltava river and that was very pleasant and calm day. The whole township has the history, charm and architecture that certainly has well deserved its World Heritage listing. In addition the river is wonderful, the range of restaurants excellent and the people are very tourist friendly. I highly recommend the free walking tours. I would also prefer to stay outside the old town where it is a bit more quiet. If you are coming by train from Cesky Budejovice just take a cab directly $40 instead because dragging your roller bags is not fun on cobblestones.Guest review byBettina - 8.0

We found some very good restaurants, and walked out of a couple of cafes, too. Walking is the only way to get around, as far as we are concerned. The little streets, square, so scenic and peaceful. Galleries, tours, Egon Schiele art centrum, and a very interesting visit to Museum Fotoatelier Seidel, going back in time to photography/portraiture superior craftsmanship. The castle tours are a great way to see history, and the skyline. Had lunch twice at Hotel Old Inn. The real surprise was the Krčma Šatlava restaurant. The room is really beautiful, it is spacious and spotless clean. Breakfast which was really good was included. The man at the reception was very helpful and friendly. Best of all is the location - the hotel is right in the old center of Cesky Krumlov. The only small issue was that our room was facing the street and we heard people passing by the whole night when the windows were open.
