I stayed two days, which was my plan, but the weather was...
I stayed two days, which was my plan, but the weather was really bad. Lots of rain and wind. In decent weather, this would be a terrific city to explore. In the rain, I had to dodge into (beautiful) churches to keep dry, and to just make sure I wasn't out too much in the bad weather. But be aware that the famous column, for which Olomouc is so well known, is undergoing a complete renovation and is surrounded by scaffolding, so you can't see it. This won't be completed until 2027, unfortunately. But I found some good restaurants, and speaking a bit of Czech really helped me a lot. Nice city, its possible to visit all historical places in one day if u r in hurry, if u want to enjoy the place, its perfect for 2-4 days of staying. Most of these places are closed to each other. It is very easy to get to on public transport by tram from the main station to the hotel...just 4 stops. It is a short walk to the main square of Olomouc from the hotel. The rooms were quite large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had rooms at the rear so there was very little noise.
