    The town has a few pleasant 18th to early 19th C town houses...

    The town has a few pleasant 18th to early 19th C town houses, and a modest parish church. Most are strung along the single street, with the train station at one end, and the Schloss at the other (about 20-25 mins walk apart). The Schloss is the real highlight. Otherwise, the town is rather limited in interest. The town offers very limited accommodation, and rather few restaurants.

    The village of Landau was a bit unique and very interesting for its very old half timbered houses, but you need a car to get there. The accommodation section of the hotel was OK but it seems to have been while since it was refurbished.
