Authentic, German experience with little or no tourists.Charming town, old architecture, pedestrian streets. Many friendly, non English -speaking people. Slow pace of life, many bicycles, retired people. Forest walks, (favourite place: Stadwald forest and lake with beergarden wth fabulous food) Also nice is Cosmopolitan garden irestaurant in Krefeld centre with a variety of dishes including Indian (Sri Lankan chef).
