Visited many times but never stayed for any time in Arrecife - so we half knew what to expect and was hoping we would discover where there may have been a few more "local" restaurants and music bars and venues ideally somewhere where we could have listened to local artists. Not keen on Irish bars which make a feature of Irish music and karaoke - not the sort of music we were seeking out and fortunately we did not find any Irish bars in Arrecife. They are well hidden!! Was also hoping to discover a few more "locals" restaurants in the back streets but really only found a good Mexican La Lupe Cantina on C. Coronel Bens. You need to wander over to El Charco for the best choice of restaurant. Taxis easy to get and the Lanzarote Bus is useful - when the bus drivers are not working to rule and the app actually contains data that is useful. The church and restaurants are very close.
The church and restaurants are very close. La minoca restaurant is very good, prices and quality. The cooker Manny is the best, one of the owners is very gentil and cuban waitress are very diligents. Beautifull city, good to stay for a couple of days, cozy streets, airport is very close. The city is in the middle of the island, very convenient to visit other places. It's not very touristic, that's why you can find lots of tipical local places to eat, shops, but be ready to use the google translation if you don't speak spanish. People are very freindly. It’s a handy base to explore other areas of the island. Had I stayed longer I would have travelled by local coach to other destinations. The convenience of Arrecife is that it’s less than ten minutes (drive) from the airport and accommodation seemed more reasonable than the other areas. All of the staff, chefs, waiters/waitresses, cleaners, reception were so friendly and helpful and always with a smile. The Hotel is in a brilliant position, right on the beach and right on the edge of Arrecife itself. The breakfasts we had were lovely and there were many choices available, all cooked perfectly.
