On previous visits to Lerma the town has been buzzing in the evenings, on this occasion, a Tuesday night in mid-June the entire place was shut making it very difficult to find somewhere for dinner. Great if you’re travelling with dogs, nice riverside walk. Easy to find just off motorway. Big rooms which are very clean. Big bar with plenty of light meals. It was a handy overnight stop en route to Bilbao. Very attractive small town , stunning parador/palace, could easily have spent longer there but on this occasion a day was sufficient. There are several pleasant little squares, galleried streets and attractive looking eateries, though the town is dominated by the palace in the Plaza Major. Ate in the parador, very good quality , around 50e per head. Not particularly much for families with young children in Lerma, but for a treat as an overnight stay in a palace , this is a must !Guest review bymartynUnited Kingdom

Dining room not open for breakfast so had to made do with toast and jam from the bar area, asked for tea but got cold coffee. Only us there so he wasn’t rushed off his feet! Room spacious and comfy. Our 2 small dogs made welcome and excellent walk at side of hotel. Added bonus, secure underground car park for €7. Very good location. Lerma is lovely, and if you want a base or just somewhere to sleep for one night whilst on route. I recommend this little hotel. I'm sorry to say I've forgotten the ladies name (maybe Lisa) but she went out of her way and gave my husband a slice of cake with candle for his birthday 🎂 and sang Happy Birthday to him at breakfast.
