Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the villa and the luxurious facilities. The staff could genuinely not have been more helpful and courteous, assisting us with bike rental and taxis and guidance on the surrounding area.

I was in contact with the hotel when I did the booking, and before our arrival, regarding some questions. As a frequent traveler, both privately and for business, I prioritize a healthy indoor environment, which for me also includes avoiding hotels that are polluting the indoor environment with scented cleaning detergent and/or "air fresheners" etc. Best Western Arcachon Le Port replied that they only use nonscented products for cleaning the rooms, and no "air fresheners" is used. Upon arrival, this was 100% confirmed, and it met our expectations. We got two bright and clean rooms. Both rooms had small balconies. The hotel offers a good breakfast which, we also enjoyed a lot. During our 4 day stay, we also had the pleasure of using the rooftop bar at the hotel, which offers a nice view over Arcachon. The hotel is located in a nice quiet area, approximately 1 km from Plage D´Arcachon a beautiful sandy beach. On behalf of the entire family, I can give my warmest recommendation of Best Wester Arcachon Le Port. And if we are again in the area of Arcachon, we will for sure book a stay at Best Western Le Porte

We had an amazing weekend at this hotel! The location is unbeatable, just a 5-minute walk from the beach, which made our trip even more special. The staff were absolutely wonderful, always friendly and attentive. The hotel bar serves fantastic cocktails, perfect for unwinding after a day in the sun or in the spa. A special touch that made our stay even better was the warm welcome for our dog! She was greeted with surprise treats and a bowl in our room, which was such a thoughtful detail. It was a great experience for all of us. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

Sea, Oysters and Europe’s Tallest Sand Dune

Arcachon is a French resort on the Atlantic coast, about 55 km from the city of Bordeaux. Known for its oyster farms, Dune of Pyla, the long sandy beaches and the Victorian houses, this seaside city is a perfect holiday destination.

Set among the ocean and a pine forest, the breathtaking Great Dune of Pyla is the tallest sand dune in Europe. Reaching a height of about 107 metres and a length of 3 km, this natural miracle is a massive hill ideal for paragliding.

Popular for its oyster production, Arcachon was home to one of the first farms opened in 1849. Today about 60% of the oysters in France come from this region. Visit a waterside restaurant and savour delicious oyster dishes accompanied by a glass of fine French wine.

    We loved the town, we enjoyed the variety of shops and restaurants. The beach was awesome. We visited Dune Pilat, climbed to the top and were astounded by the views. We would have liked to see much more of the area but our time was short. It was a taste that left us wanting to savour much much more, hopefully soon.

    Loved the dunes.

    Loved the dunes. Very difficult to park but our holiday was in peak season so understandable. Quality of food not great and expensive. The best meal we had was at the dunes and that was the cheapest too. Lots to do for everyone but next time we would go out of high season

    Beautiful place!

    Beautiful place! The waitress in Diego's restaurant on the front was very patient and helpful with our group of 14. Food delicious, not cheap, but well worth it... we went back a second night. Alma Mia's for nummy pizza's etc. Lots of little cafes for crepes and cheeses. Beach and sea clean... perfect!.

    We were travelling with our dog and dogs were not allowed on...

    We were travelling with our dog and dogs were not allowed on the beaches or the boardwalk. We thought it was quite built up. All the promenade was being dug up while we were there so that affected our view of the place. Couldn't find vegetarian food except for pizza Le Teich Bird Reserve was fantastic and that was the reason we went to Arcachon.

    A sophisticated, small beach resort located on the southern shores of Arcachon bay. Take a trip on the ferry boats to Cap Ferret and Andernos to enjoy the real oyster tasting experience. Taxis are available if needed, but you can walk around Arcachon with ease. There is a good selection of seafood restaurants at the beach front and dotted throughout Arcachon.

    A stroll along the promenade, stopping for a morning coffee at the many restaurants, followed by a seafood lunch. A visit to the gardens was fascinating as was the architecture of the "old Town". Shopping was incredible with many niche shops. Eating out was difficult because there were many quality restaurants to choose from! The town was immaculately clean and is one we will definitely return to.

    Traditional hotel with added bonus of a covered heated swimming pool which was a nice surprise as we hadn’t expected it to be open this time of year. Large room with patio doors onto balcony..Very pleasant wooded location near to some great beach bars to the west of Arcachon on the way to the Dune du Pilat. Plenty of parking easily accessed round the back from where you can get the lift up to your room. Friendly helpful people and excellent breakfast served on a tray on your balcony. We had a very nice stay.

    Beautiful quirky boutique hotel very close to train station, bus route and the beachfront. Room was very nice. Bathrobes provided. Staff were very welcoming Breakfast was lovely as was roof terrace. Sparkling/ still water complimentary which is a really nice touch.

    A nice 2nd floor apartment within walking distance of the central area. Larger than some with an enormous balcony. Well equipped, comfortable bed and the luxury of a bath - bliss! Parking on street, plenty of space on quiet residential road.
