There is nothing I could suggest to change Barneville-Carteret. We have been going there almost every year for about fifty years, sometimes several times a year. We love the whole atmosphere. We like the fact that you can buy a croissant from the boulangerie in Carteret and sit to eat it with a coffee at the Bar Du Port. We love the Saturday market in Barneville where we can sit at the Bar in the square with a coffee, soaking up the atmosphere and watching the world go by. We love to look at the local produce on sale, particularly the fruit, vegetables and fish. I always go to the gift shop, La Cigale, and buy lovely gifts which they wrap beautifully for me. In Barneville the Hotel Des Isles is just so lovely and relaxing. I could stay there a week on my own, just soaking up the atmosphere. It is wonderful just to sit on the terrace, with a drink, and look out at the sea. Perfect!Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10

Good choice of restaurants & interesting shops. The tourist information was very helpful & staff were friendly. There's lots of walking opportunities from the town & the nearby lighthouse is good to visit. There is a town walking guide available from the tourist information. La Marine was completely wonderful: the room, the balcony, the reception, the marvellous breakfast, the fantastically helpful staff - each and everyone - and the design and high quality fit out was superb. There are several restaurants and the Gare is vibrant with a range of food providers. The port of Carteret is particularly pleasant at high tide. The room was very comfortable, and having access to our own fridge and microwave was a real bonus. The view out to sea is superb! The hosts couldn't be more friendly, very hospitable and we really enjoyed our conversations. The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit and pannacotta, brioche, croissants, home-made jams and lively local fresh apple juice.
