    Chatillon is at the end of the metro line, so definitely...

    Chatillon is at the end of the metro line, so definitely suburban, swings towards blue-collar to lower white-collar neighborhood with many nany 70s apartment complexes. Clamart (not Chatelet; a review error of mine earlier) is a 10 minute walk from the gite location and was more residential and less blue-collar with a busy Sunday park and restaurants on the town square. You’re out in suburbia so free to escape the city throngs. Easy Uber/Bolt to CDG route that’s about twice as fast as the Metro + RER if catching a morning flight

    Quite a long way from the city.

    Quite a long way from the city. The only reason we come here is because of family but if you want a different view of Paris it's an interesting 'real' place and people are friendlier than in the city centre. It's on a hill so there are some unusual views over Paris - if you're interested in photography, you could steal a march on the standard Paris pictures. The neighbouring 'villages' are attractive. It's its own thing, really. You can get to Fontenay au Rose on a direct line from Gare du Nord and FaR is one of the neighbouring villages.

    They didn't tell us this was an old folks home with...

    They didn't tell us this was an old folks home with wheelchairs and strollers. They also had a loud party with music late into the night keeping us from sleeping. Sounds crazy but true. I'd find different accommodations. The staff was nice and pleasant.

    From Chatillon you can reach downtown Paris in roughly 50 min. Tramway, buses and metro are easily reachable and their are very frequent. Chatillon is a residential area with nice buildings, good restaurants and shops

    Overall our stay at Chatillon was great with many positive aspects such as welcoming host who explained everything, safe parking slot inside , Wi-Fi, clean apartment, beautiful view, comfortable penthouse, Tv, kitchen functional and modern with all utensils, coffee machine, microwave, cooker, dishwasher, good shower and toilet and laundry also available. Location was reasonable but not in the centre. Metro is situated at Chatillon Montrouge (13 blue line )only 2 stops by the tram from Centre de Chatillon ( about 60 meters from the apartment) All main sight-seeings were accessible by the public transport. Supermarket also nearby approximately 100 meters from the apartment. Although not opened late at night. Easy access to the property out of hours/ late at night. Wish we have stayed longer.
