Have been to Dieppe many times previously and love it. Lovely views, next to the harbour and sea, great choice of restaurants, although we are addicted to Le Tout Va Bien, which suits us perfectly. The only downside at the moment is that the main bridge for easy access to the sea front and harbour is closed. The cafés and restaurants all serve local fare, but if you're self-catering, the market and Carrefour shops in the centre have all you need to make some interesting meals. The little shops are excellent with lots of local souvenirs, but they're quite pricey. The castle is well worth a visit, including an amazing art gallery and information about the history of the Dieppe region. There's also plenty to do in the surrounding area and some guides are available for interesting themed walks around the town. There are nice day trips to be done from Dieppe.
There are nice day trips to be done from Dieppe. I went to the pretty resort of Le Tréport and went up there (free !) Funicular Railway for a magnificent view at the top. Then took a 45 minute train-ride to the beautiful historic city of Rouen on the river Seine.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Chateau museum closed Monday and Tuesday. 6.5 euro admission charge, but worth visiting. Lovely 12-14 century church free to visit. Motor boat rides from the harbour approx 14 euros for about 45 mins out and back, but commentary only in French. Moules frites from about 15 euros at many restaurants. An another day would have given us a chance to visit the castle. We arrived in the town in good time to find a cafe for breakfast but found it quite hard to find somewhere to eat.
