A must-see on the northern Normandy/ Brittany border. Explore the twisty, narrow, steep streets. Step back in time with a visit to the abbey and enjoy delicious seafood- moules frites- overlooking the bay. Highly recommend

We arrived in late afternoon at hotel and toured island...

We arrived in late afternoon at hotel and toured island first in evening hours - great idea as less crowded and still light enough to wander the streets and alleys. Toured the abbey the next morning - around 11. Already getting crowded - should have started earlier. But well organized and flows well within the Abbey. Well worth the visit to see this unique and historic structure - magical.

A mesmerizing place that provides delights at every turn. This place is not recommended for people with mobility issues. Not only is it geared for people with the stamina to climb stairs and rather steep roads but the oppressive crowds make maneuvering, even for the able-bodied, difficult. Particularly avoid visiting in July and August, if you must gear your visit to the early morning or the evening when the tour bus crowds are away.

One of the most beautiful locations of the French seaside,...

One of the most beautiful locations of the French seaside, matched with one of the most spectacular Castle/Abby I have ever encountered. I would place this even with Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. If you drive to the hotel, avoid the initial parking lot and call ahead to receive the code for your stay. You will be able to park much closer to your hotel room.

Absolutely stunning place with a very special Angelic energy. Would recommend everyone to go at least once in their life - however not very suitable for anyone with walking restrictions, buggies etc and at high season it is very busy. It is also expensive and everything closed down early on Sunday evening. However, it is well worth a visit as the views alone are breath taking.

We only stayed a night, but that was enough to visit the abbey during a light and sound show in the evening. Dinner was at La Mère Poulard which was good but very expensive. There’s a reason why most visitors in summer camp in nearby areas and take the shuttle to MSM for day trips only. Perhaps a visit off peak season ie. in spring or autumn would’ve been more interesting.

Le Mont Saint Michel is a beautiful location and it was lovely to walk around it at night when the hoards of tourists had left. The restaurants on Le Mont Saint Michel do not take bookings, but because we were staying at the hotel we could book at their sister restaurant (which unfortunately tried to rip us off by adding an extra €101 on top of an already hefty bill). The restaurant permits guests to store their luggage in reception after check-out.

We felt very welcome at this hotel. Getting to the room was a journey in itself, not in terms of distance but the access along the ramparts offered extensive views of the bay and the amazing sunset. We had a triple room and it was one of the largest we had during our short 5 day stay in France. Water pressure was fantastic too! Do note the hotel's advice on luggage and parking information.
