Montreuil is a historic, walled town with a large central square and picturesque cobbled streets. The walk around the walls is well worth the time, and wandering the streets is very rewarding. It's a proper local small town, busy with real life, there are many little restaurants and cafes, shops and fascinating old and new French architecture. A perfect destination for a short break or weekend.
A perfect destination for a short break or weekend. About 90 minutes from the Channel Tunnel, makes it an easy journey from the UK. Lots of very good restaurants and a nice market to visit on a Saturday. Excellent parking facilities which makes the whole town very accessible. We didn't have as much time to wander around as last year. However the town has some lovely historic buildings and pretty squares and you can wander around the old citadelle. Unlike many French towns we have visited we were pleased to see that some of the tattier buildings have been renovated or are being renovated.Guest review byHelen

A special mention to Eric who is so welcoming , friendly , convivial and to Jordan your Director who is so helpful, incredibly friendly and welcoming and very professional. Our dog Rufus gets special loving attention . We visit our home in Spain regularly and they are the reason why we stay at the Hermitage always on our first night in France and our final night on our return.
