Rogny has an interesting role in the areas canal culture, with an historic staircase of 7 locks that lifted canal boats up the nearby hill. The Briare canal goes through the town, but when I visited in September there was little open at predictable hours except the patisserie next door and the pizza place. The Auberge on the corner said they were open at 6 but I never saw them open. The neighboring bar has a nice matron but the choices for food were limited. There is no grocery, and any actual 'restaurants' were closed. In three days I ate 1) Pizza 2) Leftover pizza and 3) bread and cheese purchased in another town. I couldn't wait to leave. Sorry. I enjoyed many of the nearby towns, but at least in September Rogny doesn't offer much.Guest review byDennisUnited States
