We loved Vannes.
We loved Vannes. The old town is so interesting with its medieval buildings and hidden streets and squares. It is so close to the port with its waterside activities. We visited the Cathedral and the Musee de Beaux Arts, Despite ongoing renovations at the Cathedral we still found lots to look at. The ramparts and gardens are also well worth a look. There were plenty of places to eat. The day we visited the old town it poured with rain so we had wonderful moules frites opposite the cathedral. The apartment is modern, fresh and light in à quiet residential area. Bus stops on the doorstep for to and from the centre of Vannes. There is nothing at all to dislike about this property. We were welcomed by Audrey, who gave us all the information we needed to ensure à trouble free stay - she was so friendly and helpful, and came to collect the keys on our departure. Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. The sofa bed pulled out into a king size and they also provided a cot. Even with all the beds, there was still loads of space to move around. It was also great to have a separate loo from the main bathroom. The hotel let my husband store his bike in their basement. The town centre was a short drive away and the carparks are free on a Sunday. If you are arriving by car there is a three level underground Q-Park across the road (which the host kindly got us a permit for) and if you drive an EV the car park has about fifteen 2kw/22kw chargers on level -3.
