Lovely small town, great community feel. Cute small shops selling antiques, two pubs, bakery and a few tea shops and cafes. Alford is a useful central point for the area. It's quite a pretty village but has definitely seen better days. Very few paces to eat and even the ones that were open, it was hit and miss if they were serving food on the day you wanted it. Granted it may be better during school holiday and peak times. Family run.
Family run. Proprietors were Excellent and staff looked after you well in all area’s. Plenty of parking with outside seating also has separate outdoor covered smoking facilities. There is only evening meals but excellent midday meals in the garden centre’s in woodthorpe and just on the other side of Mumby. Alford is has a Very narrow road when there are parked vehicles but easy to walk around. Good little Restaurant just up from the hotel but closes by 13:00 hrs. It was emaculately clean, very homely and welcoming with off road parking and a private hot tub which was incredible. Extremely comfy bed and big shower. This cottage has everything you could need for a short or long stay. Owners were very friendly and had left a bottle of wine, cookies, tea and coffee to welcome us and even provided hotel style toiletries.
