I took a fishing rod and on the first night had bbq mackerel on the banks of Loch lomand as its very close. The hills are walking distance from the hotel so on the second day we walked up Ben ime. Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery. Most staff are extremely pleasant and friendly, but not all. Arrochar is a bit of a one horse town, although it's a great base for touring some amazing parts of the country. Beautiful quiet location, stunning scenery. The Village Inn was great. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Restaurant had good menu choices both for dinner and breakfast. Weather not great second day but didn’t spoil our break . Took a very scenic drive up the “Rest and Be Thankful “ via Loch Fyne oyster bar and garden centre to Inveraray . Dogs loved the walk through the grounds up to the castle . Lovely places for lunch in the town .The George Hotel a favourite of ours .Guest review byJacqueline - 10.0

Everything was top notch. Staff were very good, nice and helpful. The bedroom was beautiful and the bed very comfy. Food was delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The cottage is very nice with everything you need for a home from home stay. Very clean inside with comfy furniture and a very comfy bed. The views from the lounge and bedroom windows was breath taking and even better when viewing from outside ! Simply stunning views of the Arrochar alps and loch Long. We were right at the front of the property on the main road which was busy but with the windows closed the traffic wasn’t an issue. Fabulous views of Loch Long and Arrochar Alps including The Cobbler. The owners Paul & Melissa were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and a good choice of options to suit everyone. I requested a refurbished room with Loch Views and that’s what we got. Okay so the hotel could do with a lick of paint and new carpets but for the DBB we got, we couldn’t complain. We asked for mains from the a la carte menu instead of the set menu and it was no problem for the staff. The breakfast was a generous buffet and decent coffee machine.
