This was such a unique experience, not something I will soon forget. The building itself has so many historical facts and interesting stories and even some spooky ones. We did the guided tour, absolutely amazing. Very interactive. Ample parking. Breakfast and dinner in the chapel restaurant were great, restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. Last but not least, I loved our room !!! Even had a framed story of an inmate. Oh yes, and the complimentary bar was a huge surprise.

The friendly and very helpful staff, especially Lily who told me about an area I was interested in, she had local knowledge which was fantastic. All the staff must have been chosen so carefully, it's very refreshing to see every member of staff happy in their jobs and more than willing to make guests feel welcome. They were happy enough to store 2 medical ice packs in the guest freezer for me and made no big deal about retrieving them for me every morning.. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding, congratulations it's most impressive and makes one feel relaxed knowing such care and attention have been given in keeping the hotel spotless. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Bodmin as a central base when driving around Cornwall.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Anna's property. Tastefully furnished, well equipped and great location for the Camel Trail or day trips. The bed was super comfy, never slept so well. Anna was on hand and kept in touch throughout. Wouldn't hesitate to go back if in the area again.

Such a lovely unusual hotel to spend a night or 2, with a good selection of food catering well for persons with allergies. There are superb in-house experiences to purchase at an additional cost but it would be waste not to try them.

It was interesting spending the night in jail.

It was interesting spending the night in jail. The bed was super comfortable, but there wasn't much space in the room. But it was very quiet. The front desk staff was friendly and warm. The building is interesting, and a bit creepy. The restaurant was less than adequate. We ate both dinner and breakfast and our orders were messed up for both meals. The staff was working hard, but they were unorganized as we had to ask for things multiple times. The food was not up to our expectations.

A holiday in Bodmin Moor offers a blend of natural beauty, rich history, and tranquillity. This rugged landscape in Cornwall, with its sweeping moorlands and granite tors, provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking, cycling, and horse riding along scenic trails, with stunning views that change with the seasons. The area is steeped in history, featuring ancient stone circles, the famed Jamaica Inn, and Bodmin Jail, offering fascinating insights into the past. Wildlife watchers can spot rare birds, while those seeking serenity can find peace in the vast open spaces and star-filled skies at night. Local villages, such as St. Neot and Blisland, charm visitors with their quaint pubs and welcoming community spirit. A holiday in Bodmin Moor is an opportunity to reconnect with nature, explore historical sites, and experience the unique Cornish culture.

A busy town and lots of traffic.

A busy town and lots of traffic. Worth exploring, but I didn't have the time, other than looking at the old jail. Good mid-way stopping point if travelling further into Cornwall. The hotel served a very good breakfast and the evening meal was well prepared: the lamb that I had was beautifully cooked. The options for puddings were mainly cake-based and personally, I found my meringue option a tad sweet (as one might expect) with no pouring cream to calm it down!

It’s looking tired but it’s the gateway to lots of other places. Plymouth is within reach maybe 40mins by car. The prison has the attraction of the museum with guided tours which are great fun The prison, now hotel is absolutely wonderful. Great gala night for new year with the best food ever. The Bodmin folk are so friendly and will advise on where to eat to suit your budget. The Eden project is a great trip to make even on a rainy day. There are do many places to suit any pocket don’t forget Looe such a pretty place

Bodmin Jail Hotel is pretty unique as hotels go! You’d think spending a night in a prison cell would be unpleasant and uncomfortable but they have gone to every length to make this place accommodating and even luxurious in places. The rooms are well designed with modern amenities while still preserving the history and integrity of the old prison building.
