A wonderful historic town well worth a visit for a few days. Also an easy commute to Bath via the City's park and ride scheme. Short term car parks are small and often full. We enjoyed staying in Bradford on Avon- lots of lovely buildings and a beautiful river. A lovely, quieter alternative to staying in Bath. Very picturesque but very hilly.
Very picturesque but very hilly. Couldn't believe that two pubs on canal both closed at 5pm Traffic is horrendous and locals were complained how regularly they had the road dug up causing even more chaos. BoA is a lovely historic town with many Georgian buildings...
BoA is a lovely historic town with many Georgian buildings with the advantage that all the main sights within easy walking distance. The town has an industrial past, but most of the historic landmarks have now been converted into flats meaning they can only be viewed from the outside. The museum has very limited opening hours and was closed for the duration of my visit. As expected from a tourist town, things are quite expensive in both restaurants and shops. Parking is very limited and the roads narrow - far more suited to horses than cars! Because the weather was so lovely we were able to walk along the river and canal, enjoying a cup of tea at the Aquaduct. The Tithe barn area was busy but lovely crafts and cafes too.
