Such a special area. There is so much to see and do.
Such a special area. There is so much to see and do. Cutest little shops. Nature and Natural beauty is everywhere. You are practically tripping over the next inspiring view point. I was so happy the whole time we were there. Pubs, Beaches, Nature, People watching, We were there in the Autumn. It was easy to get parking. I can see that this area would be very popular. Bushmills is a great base location if visiting Northern...
Bushmills is a great base location if visiting Northern Ireland and in particular the North Antrim coast. We visited cities and towns such as Belfast, Coleraine, Portrush, Portstewart, Ballymoney, Ballycastle and Ballintoy and attractions like the Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Ballintoy harbour etc. Bushmills has a number of Fish & Chip shops, Chinese takeaways and coffee shops which we sampled. Our favourite two places to eat out were the Sizzlin Sausage in Ballymoney (for a proper Irish Fried breakfast) and the Water Margin Chinese restaurant in Coleraine; both definitely worth a visit. Bushmills is an historic town, not only home to the eponymous whiskey, it is at the heart of the stunning North Antrim Coast with all its amazing attractions. It is also becoming a bit of a foodie hub with several fabulous restaurants such as The Townhouse and Tartine. Magden specialist cheese and coffee shop is a local icon. Bushmills Inn is a must. Splash out on an Irish coffee if the budget does not run to dinner or a stay. Mike’s cafe does excellent hearty daily roasts as well as Thai specials. Excellent Gallery and Craft shops. Bushmills is a lovely place to visit. Suppose it’s not much more than a Main Street, but there are many nice eateries, and a walk along the River Bush is lovely - you may even see the fish jumping in the water! Bushmills is a charming small town just minutes from the Giants Causeway, with beautiful rocky beaches nearby, several delightful pubs in town, and of course the Old Bushmills Distillery. The tour was a fascinating view into how whiskey is made and distributed. This was our first visit to Northern Ireland and the North Coast, and Bushmills was a highlight. The room we had was very spacious and recently refurbished and the view was stunning. We had a delicious evening meal and enjoyed every minute of our stay in the Causeway Hotel. We got free entry to the visitor’s centre included with our room which was great and a guided tour of the Causeway which is beautiful.
