We live, work in London and have family in the area that we like to visit. Byers Green is the perfect countryside accommodation. The views are stunning of the countryside. With sheep! (I am from London!) The locals are friendly and, being a mixed couple (I am a black women with a Glaswegian husband) I was comfortable. Byers Green itself is small and doesn't have any real places of interest so you do have to drive to places e.g. Beamish Museum and Durham City are both within short car journeys from the hotel. As the hotel restaurant only serves dinner from Thurs to Sun early week visitors will need to travel about 10 minutes to nearby towns like Bishop Auckland (10 mins) where there are a lot of restaurants.Guest review byphillipUnited Kingdom - 8.0
