Charlbury is a typical Cotswold village, but beware of the Bull Inn if you want to dine out, it is very precocious, expensive, hard to understand menu and the portions very small. In the interests of global sustainability there is not a printed dessert menu, instead the waitress will "verbalise" the menu for you, as I said, precocious. Two of our party required meat knives and they were brought to the table with a covering of rust on the blades, the waitress said it was a "patina" and the knives were intended to be like that!Guest review byBarryUnited Kingdom - 10.0
There isn’t much traffic and so it’s a fairly peaceful town.
There isn’t much traffic and so it’s a fairly peaceful town. We stayed here as it’s only 15 mins direct to Oxford by train. There aren’t many shops on the high street so you couldn’t shop here but it was perfect as a base to explore from.Guest review byRhonaUnited Kingdom
