Stayed here for one night after a wedding in the Danby Castle Wedding Venue nearby. Such a lovely surprise... The room was extremely cosy and well decorated- Rustic yet not at all outdated. A lovely warm welcome on arrival, especially from the lady behind the bar who also showed me my room. I went down for a quick drink on my own before bed and even the regulars made me feel at home. The gentleman who looked after me at breakfast was a superstar too. I left feeling extremely guilty, given that feeling a little bit worse for wear, I wasn't actually able to eat my breakfast but everything looked great. A huge amount of effort is put in and he worked non stop to make sure everyone had everything they needed. All in all a fantastic stay.

We needed a quiet and relaxing break and found the perfect spot. Secluded and wild feeling but within easy reach of anything you want or need. We loved the peace and tranquility, a proper escape from the hustle and bustle of home.

what a beautiful property, with glorious views. it was finished to a high standard with everything you would need for your stay. the staff were helpful and courteous and always had a smile. The breakfast was delicious. would definitely go back for a longer stay, as it’s in easy reach of several attractions and beaches.

Danby village is a 5 min drive/40 min walk away and is easy...

Danby village is a 5 min drive/40 min walk away and is easy to get around. There's a local pub serving food though we didn't go there as we generally self catered. Danby Botton with a good store, in the other direction, is also a 5 min drive/40 min walk away. Excellent walking country on the door step.

Danby is such a pretty village nestled in an outstandingly beautiful valley. The teashop/bakers in village provides great hot/cold snakes and cakes and worth a visit. Great location for exploring the Northern end of the National Park by foot or/and car.

our room was very cold the food was average pub grub. Another couple stay there said their room was very cold they asked for an heater from the gentleman serving the food to be told they could not have one due to health and safty.

Danby and specifically the Fox and Hounds is a great place...

Danby and specifically the Fox and Hounds is a great place to stay if you want to explore the Moors, Whitby, Staithes, Helmsley and Byland Abbey. There are some great walks if you get the right weather.

We stayed just outside Danby.

We stayed just outside Danby. We visited Danby village which was picture perfect. Surrounded by beautiful countyside quiet, relaxing and good for walking and bike rides. Very friendly people willing to help and give information about the area. The local food is excellent and full of variety.

I found this little pub gem on Booking.com as I needed a place to stay the night between Scarborough and Layburn in North Yorkshire. Ideally situated on the route between the two towns. Price was fab as was the whole experience. Bed and room were very comfy, very clean with a great pub varied menu. Staff really helpful and friendly. Will certainly visit again

I was attending a wedding at the nearby Danby Castle and stumbled across Coombs glamping when looking for accommodation, and I'm so glad I did! The pods are immaculate, they have everything you could need and more. The extra little touches like the snacks and fresh milk make the stay even better. The location is incredible, in the middle of nowhere with the most amazing views. Jackie is a fabulous host, so friendly and helpful, she even offered a lift to the wedding. I will definitely be back!

Breakfast was unfortunately not an option, however, Charlotte told us about a lovely little tea shop only a very short stroll away that is worth a visit. Also a little over 1 mile away there is Park Life Cafe, Danby Lodge, lodge Lane, YO21 2NB where an amazing choice of breakfasts are available. On our behalf Charlotte also very kindly booked an evening meal at the Fox and Hounds on our first evening - well worth a visit. For the accommodation i definitely would give a 12/10.

The location was awesome, situated near the North Yorkshire Moors. The hotel has great staff and you are always made to feel welcomed. The food on the menu was great and we loved the fact that it was all available whenever they were serving food.
