Friendly staff + there's always someone at the reception desk downstairs. Love the hotel's decoration. There's a pool table & table tennis table downstairs . Also lovely seating area where we were able to do some work (good Wi-Fi signal throughout the hotel). The room was very clean. Comfortable bed. This was our second stay at west rock's and will definitely be back.

We had a great stay in this fabulous British hotel and with a great room with seaview. On our trip around the world we have came more times in Eastbourne, It's always great to come of course but romantic hotelroom adds value, that can't be denied. The bed was lovely, the choosen colors very warm and the balcony was spacious and the windows were just cleaned before our arrival so we had a great view on the boulevard. Breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was a place on it's own with all comfort that we needed and had super soft toiletpaper, something you don't see that often. Very nice. We highly recommend this hotel. Best regards, from Mr. and Mrs. C.U. Mings from Tightsqueeze, Virginia - USA

The Lansdowne is unbelievable value for money! It’s a fabulous find. All the staff I came across were delightful. My single room on the second floor with a great view of the sea was more than I expected - an extra sitting area, comfortable bed, good quality, appealing furnishings, bathroom not recently renovated but perfectly clean with everything you need including a comfortable bath and fluffy white towels. The multiple lounge areas and bar are inviting, a lovely spot to relax with a drink or a chat or quiet read. The restaurant 1920 was also a great experience. Good food, nice setting, friendly good service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quite simply outstanding. I have stayed previously, many times, at the Hydro and the Grand - the Langham is by far superior in almost every category. The hotel itself is exceptionally well maintained given the age of the building itself. All of the public areas were comfortable and impeccably clean. Room #207 was wonderful - great views, windows that open, comfortable large bed [great linens], excellent recently refurbished bathroom with modern easy to use facilities and nice range of bathroom products. Excellent wi-fi throughout - well done. We enjoyed the food and the outstanding service - the F&B staff are excellent. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Neil who exemplifies the standard of his own hotel - charming, knowledgeable, thorough .... interested in his clients. The Langham has a customer for life!

Some parts of the town centre are a bit run down.

Some parts of the town centre are a bit run down. However that is a common problem in many seaside towns. We use Hampden park for our two grandaughters. It is a pretty and free facillity. It would be nice if there was a free play park on the sea front. Had a nice meal at Bills and went to the cinema

Eastbourne is the best resort along the East Sussex coast.

Eastbourne is the best resort along the East Sussex coast. It has a long promenade to walk, mostly away from the traffic. The pier is free although looking a bit tired currently. There are still things to do in October and we enjoyed the extensive Land Train ride to the Harbour and Holywell. There is an Open top Sightseeing tour that is well worth doing and you can hop off at Beachy Head, Birling Gap or East Dean village - all worth doing. Eastbourne is clean and well kept, with garden areas along the front . It is a shame the famous carpet gardens have gone though. The council have started charging £1 for the toilets along the front. Very few seem to use them. There are free ones on the pier and at the theatre complex,. The Beach Deck cafe is really handy - near the seafront redoubt tower.

The only issue we had was the flooring on the promenade which was most unsuitable for pushing walking aids on wheels and wheelchairs - too cobbly. So Sad to see empty shops on pier and the roadworks for pedestrianisation were terrible so hope they get that work done very soon. We went to the theatres - there were many broad-beamed (!) people there like ourselves and the seats were tight, uncomfortable and no knee room but probably something that cannot be changed - pity

Love being by the sea, ideal for the theatre and plenty of restaurants, lovely fish and chip restaurant, excellent food. Plenty to see and do. Railway station in centre of town, easy to get to and from Eastbourne. Only spent a night here for the Devonshire Park Theatre, lovely building and architecture, worth a visit. Will certainly come back and spend longer here.

Room was a small double with sea view - excellent. Hotel well laid out with many comfortable common areas for relaxing. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel - both meals were excellent, good varied menu for dinner, food well prepared and cooked, generous portion sizes, excellent service, superb staff We attended an event at the Congress Theatre, hence our visit. The hotel is superbly located for the two main Eastbourne theatres, the Towner Gallery, Eastbourne Tennis week and the sea front
