There’s many things to do so I’d really recommend following your own interests rather than following a tick box of must-see destinations. There are several bus tours which are a great way of seeing the castle, Arthur’s Seat and other highlights. We were most interested in art, so enjoyed getting another bus to Modern One and Two, and a train to the V&A at Dundee which was fantastic. We toured the Castle, Palace, Hiked Arthur's Seat, ate at Sheep Head Inn in Duddingston, Museum & Art Museum were great & free. Food was great everywhere. Bus & train system is easy to use.
