We stayed in Leith, which was the old port of Edinburgh and is now the home of the Royal Yacht after it was de-commissioned some years ago and you can get there on the tram from Edinburgh which is a very convenient way of getting about or getting to the Airport. Apart from that there is Edinburgh old town with historic old winding streets and the New Town, which was new 200 years ago, and of course Edinburgh Castle. We love the architecture and history. There is so much to see and do. We were disappointed to see so much graffiti in the city and the streets were not very clean. We could have had a few more days so we could have toured the castle, the palace, and hike Arthur’s Seat. The countryside is absolutely beautiful.
