Edzell is a beautiful place to stay, most people were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was adequate and although quite small was nice and comfortable.the shower was not great and very poor and the toilet would not flush properly without having to refill the cistern. The auto lights in the very dark hall did not come on unless we walked way past our room so kind of pointless for us. The breakfast room is in need of soft music or something as all we could hear was other people eating with their mouths open, this was not enjoyable. Edzell is a lovely little town. Everybody is very friendly.
Edzell is a lovely little town. Everybody is very friendly. Great walks close bye blue door walk and the shakkin brig with great scenery. Also the butcher's I have to say were amazing. Very quiet and community based, on the day we were leaving...
Very quiet and community based, on the day we were leaving there happened to be a car boot sale with many houses having garage sales which was very nostalgic which they do on the last Sunday of the month. As you drive into the village you drive through an arch which is very picturesque. The village has a few B&Bs a shop, a cafe and everything that you would really need. The glenesk hotel has access to the golf course and facilities of a sauna, steam room, gym and pool and an amazing whiskey collection. Lovely small village, all residents were friendly and happy to help with directions etc. the view by the river at the back of the cottage was outstanding perfect for long walks!
