    Small town in the heart of the FOD, some shops beautiful deli, town is not booming with life but we were there for the accommodation not the town, we ventured to the local bike facilities and used the river for canoeing

    Coleford is a decent place a few bars restaurants and shops.

    Coleford is a decent place a few bars restaurants and shops. We ate at Amici which was very good and we liked The Dog House pub. The walk from the cottage was an easy downhill walk but struggled coming back. We used Sovereign Taxis to go to The White Horse Staunton which we absolutely recommend

    The Clearwell caves are fantastic.

    The Clearwell caves are fantastic. Especially now with the Pangolin art exhibition (not of pangolins but the artist working with the foundry in Stroud). Internationally famous artists together with nationally famous artists. Absolutely unmissable.

    It's perfect distance to attractions so you can enjoy the forest but same time you can go.to restaurants or grocery shops if you forgot something. Ideal for long weekend stay with family as it a lot of to do.

    White Hart pub is very nice. Live music on a Saturday. Amici Italian restaurant nice food. A really nice cafe at the nearby colliery, on the Speech House road. Lots of scenic places to visit in a short distance. Loved Symonds Yat Rock ( Symonds Yat itself very difficult to park in & very few places to eat).

    I was attending a funeral, but Coleford was very lovely and quaint. Tesco express just up from the hotel and free parking just by the Italian which was ideal. Very close to the Golf Club where the wake was and a lovely area.

    Pleased we picked this spot for our stay! Plenty of safe parking available, friendly staff, and a large comfortable family room. While we didn’t eat there in the end as our kids were ravenous and needed food immediately, apparently the Bells restaurant is one of the only sit-down dinner options in Coleford on a weeknight. We ended up getting pizza from one of the very few open takeouts in town and eating in our room.

    The Lodge was in a fantastic location, easy to access by public transport and within walking distance of Coleford (great for those without a car!). The room was very spacious, and the decor was unique and cool, with a super comfortable bed! Helen and her husband were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we would absolutely stay here again!
