Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District.
Probably the most scenic part of the Lake District. Plenty of places to stay or eat. The road is quite narrow in places which means it can be slow going at times (especially weekends) . Was spotless staff were friendly and helpful, with amazing views . Food was good our only problem was on last day breakfast we waited 25 mins and when it did come it was cold the day before was hot and plentiful. Beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful surroundings. An ideal stopover for walking the Cumbria Way. A warm welcome from Finn and Marina in the very comfortable New Dungeon Ghyll hotel with good beer and excellent food. The local National Trust bar called Sticklebarn is next door to the hotel which is warm and inviting and serves refreshments and food until 5:30pm. The choice of real ales is also very good. There is nothing else here except beautiful scenery, sheep and walks. It has everything one needs.Guest review byBridget - 10.0

They were superb. We loved hanging out by the fire in the guest lounge during a very snowy day. The hotel is a great base for walking with lots of routes from the doorstep. It was fantastic. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are exceptionally comfortable. Of course, the location is absolutely amazing, perfect for walks and enjoying the scenery of Great Langdale. There is a good selection of real ale on the bar, all well kept. The hotel is good, staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is fabulous.
