I couldn’t find any shops at Hillingdon, although I went on a long walk near the Sheraton Heathrow hotel. I saw red buses passing by, but didn’t get any information about destinations or timetables at the hotel. I went to Heathrow for this information. The hotel is very clean.
The hotel is very clean. Ensure you book the ground floor if you can't make the stairs, as no lift. The staff were very accommodating in this respect, and I had a ground floor room. I didn't have breakfast as I had to leave early to the airport again. The double glazing is amazing - virtually no noise. Although the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear other guests. Staff were very polite and well trained. Beware that the public transport to Terminals 2 and 3 is non-existent. You can get the Pod (great experience) to Terminal 5, and then the underground to the other terminals at Heathrow. The Taxi services are very good - costing £22.00. So don't worry too much. The location was perfect for flying out the next morning. We did choose to pay for the shuttle to Terminal 5, rather than haul our luggage on the free train. It's a very nice hotel, the room was small but comfortable for 1 night, and the beds were fine, though a little on the firm side as the English seem to like. We had a very nice Indian dinner at the Urban Brass conveniently located in the hotel lobby. The Indian choices were authentic and delicious, not overly spicy as Indian food goes. I think the Indian choices are better than the English side of the menu, as it is primarily Indian with a very friendly staff from India. The buffet breakfast was ideal for us and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. There were people around to help you to a seat and so the dining room didn't seem too overcrowded. The staff greeted us and that made a difference to our experience for breakfast!! The room was better than expected and we took a walk in the evening despite it being on a busy road. The reception staff helped with information about the shuttle bus to our terminal and it all worked well. Nevertheless, I can honestly say that our stay was wonderful. The staff were so polite, at the reception, and also the dining area( our evening meal which was delightful (a lovely curry), and also the breakfast area really efficient.
