Great little town filled with fantastic independent shops, the best Charity shop ever (Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland) and the fabulous Cafe U which does the best BLT ever! There are not a huge amount of restaurants but the Cobbles is excellent. Lots of good walks around the town and along the river Tweed. Kelso is an interesting town in its own right .
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right . Plenty of interesting shops , bars , and a square to add to the overall attraction . The Cream Chimneys cafe on the square is first class with interesting innovative dishes and advertises live music on weekend evenings . You would need to make a reservation for this . Nearby Floors Castle is worth a visit , and you can walk along the river which is easy to get to . Kelso would be a good base from which to visit other Border towns .
