I really enjoyed my stay at the Tower Hotel, the staff was very helpful and lovely, 5 star customer service. I really enjoyed the freshly made breakfast as well. The hotel is just few minutes walk from the Cathedral, and still easy to find a parking space, I never had issues finding a spot.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous throughout! The staff were incredibly nice, stored luggage for us and made checking in and out easy. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. It's not often that you can look out the window and see a castle! We loved the convenience of the location and our tapas dinner at Ole Ole next door was wonderful (reservations encouraged). There were lots of quality options at the continental breakfast (beautiful pastries, breads, sliced meat and cheese, fruit, yogurt, and more). We would return in a heartbeat!

FAQs about hotels in Lincoln

The Glory of Medieval England

Lincoln was a powerhouse of medieval England and retains amazing monuments from that period. In the Uphill district is the castle built for William the Conqueror. Inside its an original copy of the Magna Carta and its ramparts offer fabulous city views. Across the cobbled square which houses the large Christmas market is huge Lincoln Cathedral whose unusual façade features 2 tall towers, while another at its centre overlooks the Bishop’s Palace.

Connecting the cathedral quarter with the Downhill district is aptly named Steep Hill, a narrow street lined with unique shops and historic buildings including the Jew’s House. Even older are the Roman Newport Arch, Mint Wall and the well on Bailgate.

This road slopes down to meet the River Witham at High Bridge, a stone-arched structure with a half-timbered building atop that is the oldest of its kind in England. Lincoln boat trips depart from the Brayford Pool just west.

Another monument is the 18th-century Ellis Mill, opposite the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The Collection combines an archaeology museum and art gallery, while The Lawn has a conference centre and the Joseph Banks Conservatory, displaying artefacts he brought back from adventures with Captain Cook.

Booking.com’s Lincoln accommodation covers luxury waterfront hotels, guest houses by the university and cheap apartments near the train station.

It was a wonderful 2 day visit and I would definitely return again. The castle and cathedral are a must to visit and the beautiful walk up the hill with the cobbled streets and individual shops is lovely. Plenty of restaurants to choose from whatever your budget. Very friendly city.

I can not make a review because I made my visit for a family funeral. My mother was born in Lincoln ( METERINGHAM ) & the remaining members of the family still live in Lincoln now. I live in Looe, Cornwall, where my mother moved to when she married my father during the 2nd World War.

Lincoln is well served by road and rail, has a great transport hub with buses adjacent to rail station. So much history from Roman times to the invention of the tank. Cathedral is astonishing and dog friendly. Many events throughout the year. Much info around the city to help the traveller. Plethora of hotels and accommodation for any purse.

So much to see and a great ambience... We had specifically planned to visit the castle, the cathedral and some of the historical buildings around. We were not disappointed with any of these. Both the castle and the cathedral are oozing history which you are helped to appreciate by knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides. Jaw-dropping experiences in both of them! Both are very visitor friendly too. The city itself was a pleasant surprises, not least because of the youthful vibe coming from the very prominent presence of the University. If you are into shopping this is an excellent place - lots of variety and easy to get around. Though with only two nights there we barely scratched the surface. And if you want good old quality fish and chips which really are "cheap as chips" The Sign of the Fish is worth looking out...

The hotel was very inviting, lady on the desk was most helpful and polite, the room was exceptional, very clean and the bed was comfortable. My friend and I had a fantastic night sleep. Was nice to beable to have a cup of coffee/tea with a biscuit after a long journey getting there and after a night out at the UB40 concert at Lincoln Castle. Each time I go away, I will first be looking at this Hotel chain in the area. Great value for money and would have no hesitation in booking again. Thank you x

The Washingborough was the venue for a wake that I attended for a colleague from my time in the Army. The service provided by the staff for the wake and also in respect of the room, I found to be exceptional. The Hotel nestles in the Lincolnshire countryside and the quiet of the space is great for reflective time. The furnishings in the room echoed the overall style of the decor throughout the Hotel - The staff were very accommodating.

The location could not be better for a short break exploring the lovely historic city of Lincoln. The hotel is beautifully renovated, staff are superbly helpful and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The delivered to your door breakfast of croissants and yogurt, and complimentary milk and orange juice in the mini fridge were great, much appreciated touches!
