Having been born & grown up in London I was very familiar with the old, pre modernised museums, sights, shops etc. Although impressed with the V & A, I do not rate the modernisation of the Natural History & Science Museums. Their personalities, tradition & design have been lost in my opinion, with only a fraction of their historical artifacts on display now & their appeal gone. My first time inside the Royal Albert Hall & it didn't disappoint. Very impressive. The filth & congestion of London continues to worsen but public transport has definitely improved. It is so easy & cheap to travel around the City. Unfortunately London feels more dangerous than I recall with a distinct lack of a visible police presence. Keep your bags close & closed. London had a good vibe, people were friendly, and getting around the city is easy. Train stations are bizarre with so many platforms but we found the staff very helpful. London (for that matter Europe) is pretty costly, esp when one is travelling from South Asian countries. London compares to Old MUMBAI except that London is ver clean, well manatined and people have GOOD civic sense. Weather is cool and comfortable till upto Sep end. Some good spots to visit.
