The Cinema great with excellent Downton Abbey Film at reasonable price. Evening meals found Queens Heat just off off main square offered good food and was not noisey. Enjoyed also Fish & chips supper on The Parade just around corner. Railway trip on steam train to Watchet was nice and return on bus convenient. Sort bus trip to Porlock Weir Harbour plus drik in local Pub was most enjoyable. Minehead has a holiday feel, probably due to Butlins and...
Minehead has a holiday feel, probably due to Butlins and people looking for something to do other than stay in there. The town is small, the bus service good. The Shops are all there, and banks too. Cafes abound. The steam train trip is expensive. The Dunster castle is better suited to a car visit because the walk up from the bus stop is hard. The nearby village of Watchet is ok for a visit, got a very reasonable cafe and a pleasant walk on the harbour. NOTE- if you go by coach to get to butlins, be prepared for a very cosy trip on the bus!! It was a shock to find that the Nat Exp coach took us to Taunton, then we had to get the bus 28 ( all included in the ticket) from there to butlins. We liked easy walks along the promenade and to the harbour.
We liked easy walks along the promenade and to the harbour. Shops in the Avenue were interesting and convenient. Pub meals not good but Fish and Chips good and we liked the Wheelhouse Restaurant. Had to book for next evening. Visited Dunster and Porlock which were picturesque villages but difficult to park and get around easily. Dunster Castle too expensive. Main road to Minehead from M5 narrow, winding and busy - quite dangerous. Took bus to Porlock.Guest review byWallace - 10.0

Minehead with a small picturesque harbour set on the Bristol channel. Always makes me smile when driving down the sea walled road out of town. Bustling town. Nice individual shops. Sandy beach. Near to quirky small villages and exmoor. Steam train alights in the town which is ideal. Plenty of choice for drinks and meals and snacks. We preferred nearby Dunster: Minehead was traffic congested, but it was school holiday time. Dunster Castle tour was a highlight. We ate at two of the nearby local pubs, and on one evening had dinner in the dining room at The Luttrell Arms hotel in Dunster.Guest review byLilley

We had the ground floor flat which is a step free 2 minute walk to the seafront. There is access to a pretty communal outdoor courtyard. The location is in a quiet street only a few hundred yards to Minehead town centre where there are many bars, restaurants, and takeaways.
