Really liked Portree and the people in the shops/pubs in...
Really liked Portree and the people in the shops/pubs in general were great fun. Just did the shops and the ‘lump’ on our full day there and we were incredibly lucky with the weather. It's a little hard to find the larger parking lot that has a 3 hour limit, the 2 up in the center of town are limited to 2 hours and no return within 1 hour. It's easy to see all the shops in an afternoon. Lots of places to eat, Dulse and Brose was very good but you must make a reservation.Guest review bydixieheartless - 10.0

Portree is beautiful but it appears to be an old town that struggling to keep up with increased tourism to Skye. Most of the food establishments closed earlier than advertised and people were looking for a place to eat constantly. The staff are really polite and friendly, the hotel was beautiful. We went during the Christmas season and I have to say that all the Christmas decorations were beautiful and really made our stay feel wonderful! We love the sea view from the breakfast room! The breakfast was really good. The room was really nice and we even got the chance to sit by our window drinking tea and watching the sea at evening! Room 4 probably the biggest with a corner bath and quality shower, good TVs better than the pics! Luxurious towels. Good breakfast fruit, yoghurt, juice, cereals, pastries and once we were offered bacon or egg rolls. Option to eat in the room or dining room or guest lounge.
