We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river,birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. Exceptional value for money with a well equiped and clean room with a very comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and efficient and when checking in, the gentleman told me about the Ripon hornblower at 9pm in the Market Place outside the front of the hotel, a spectacle not to be missed.
