Rye is ye olde & quaint, with half-timbered houses & cobbled streets. A photographer’s dream! Steep in places. Lamb House, NT, is interesting, with pretty garden. Leave the car in any car park to explore properly.

We ate at a restaurant called Simply Italian. The food was amazing and there was a friendly atmosphere. The bus service was very good, times of the buses were accurate. There was plenty to see and do around Rye. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Nature Reserve at Rye Harbour.

Nice parade of little shops. Restaurants expensive and the pubs for the food that was provided. Menus in Restaurants didn't have enough variety. Went to Hastings for the day. Webbs Restaurant excellent, but the one in Rye, food wasn't that good or value for money.

Rye has lovely old building and some very old pubs, it is full of narrow streets but once you get your bearings it is lovely. You can go up the church tower for lovely views and we were lucky enough to get a guided walk around the Rye Harbour nature reserve.

We had the garden facing room and though on the small size was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful in all aspects of our stay. The breakfast provided was exceptional and offered a really good choice of dishes unlike some hotel breakfasts. Overall, the rooms had a nice feel in keeping with the whole vibe of Rye, I feel that given the location in the citadel, the quality of the room, the friendly and helpful staff and the superb food, I wouldn't hesitate to book again, well done Fig!

The staff and owners of the Old Borough were very welcoming and friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Rye and we managed to park in the car park opposite which was a bonus. The room was spacious, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We had a fabulous lunch at the hotel. The best crab sandwiches EVER and an ice cold bottle of Chenin Blanc - Perfect. It was a shame it was just to cold and windy to sit out on the terrace watching the world go by. We will definitely be back

The lovely lady running the entire place by herself with the help of Liam. She was friendly knowledgeable about the history of Rye and she is a credit to the hotel. I hope they’re paying her accordingly. The actual exterior of the hotel, the view, the staff, the bar, and the breakfast the best part of our stay.
