There are lots of positive things to say about this hotel! For me the stand out thing through was the kindness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (I'm sorry not to remember everyone's names, but huge thanks to the lovely Ronojoy and Charlotte, the restaurant, bar and breakfast staff). I was with my elderly parents both of whom have a disability and the staff really went above and beyond to help and be kind, I am more grateful than I can say. The staff were truly outstanding and it made our holiday. Other big positives were: the convenience of the bar restaurant, and the food was really excellent both there and at breakfast, everything was delicious and there was a great range of options; our rooms all had wonderful sea views of the bay and Elizabeth castle; my parents used the spa and loved it; rooms had lots of storage space, nice toiletries in the bathrooms and comfy beds.

At last a hotel with decent lighting in the room. A designated space to sit in front of a mirror with great lighting and a plug socket to get ready at. The little things are important. Bed was so comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

    A good focal point to stay, the rest of the island was easy to navigate. We came across on the ferry from Poole with our own car. The historic sights were amazing, great people who engaged with us to give lots of welcome information. For mid October we had dry, sunny weather most of the time. Enjoyed two good restaurants Aha and the Bastille - food was very good, service second to none!

    It would have been good to know that you have to book ahead for the tour of the island bus as there were only two running when we were there. The people were all lovely and very friendly. Wonderful sights, beaches and independent shops. We are in an Indian restaurant which was excellent also an Italian restaurant which was also excellent. Both were easy to get to walking or by taxi. The local bus service was very good. The beaches are family and pet friendly but remember to check the tides! There are a lot of water activities - kite surfing etc.

    The bus service throughout the island is excellent and St Helier is a thriving town with a good variety of shops and restaurants etc. All the people I met throughout my stay were tremendously helpful and obviously really enjoy working there. Gorey and the east coast are the nicest parts - not to be missed!

    I was last there in 1971.

    I was last there in 1971. It has been taken over by too many yuppie and banking types, but this is true of most tourist resorts. This forces up prices for everyone, including the locals, many of whom are forced to move out - just like the UK.

    Its a beutiful and quite town.

    St Helier is a great base for exploring Jersey by bus (as we did). The town itself is not pretty but the main bus station means you can get around the island really easily (and more environmentally friendly than hiring a car). The museum is really excellent and gave us a fantastic overview of the history, geography and stories of Jersey. We spent a week going around the coast by bus and walking, often finding lovely secluded beaches. We are in our 60s but managed the walks fairly easily. Lots of ups and downs, so you do need good walking boots and a certain level of fitness. One downside was that the restaurants and cafes were not great for vegetarians/vegans, but we managed.

    Staff extremely helpful, welcoming and efficient. Bed comfortable, good pillows, good shower. Towels refreshed daily. Kettle, tea and coffee in room replaced daily. A very pleasant, sunny garden at the back of the hotel. 2 minute walk to a very nice restaurant and to the beach. 10 minute walk to town centre. Staff booked the round island bus tour for us and arranged pick up from the hotel. Also managed to get us a taxi to take us to the ferry even tho it was a public holiday and most roads closed due to King Charles and Camilla visit.
