Shrewsbury is very accessible on foot, much less so by car...

Shrewsbury is very accessible on foot, much less so by car due to the nature of the town which can be very congested. Parking in the Frankwell car park is best, and free after 18.00. The river tours are worth doings - Sarbrina tours recommended. The museums, castle and galleries we visited were great. There is also lots to see and do within a short drive - Ironbridge, various National Trust, English Heritage etc. properties.

The town was clean and very picturesque. Lots to see and do i.e. visit the castle, Laura's Tower, the jail, quarry park, museum, market hall, library. Local people very friendly and spent time telling you where to visit, how to get to places.

Has some lovely old buildings amongst the newer ones. Lots of independent shops as well as some chains. Museum worth a visit. Large park with Percy Thrower garden enclosed. River Seven winds around for lovely walks. Lots of eateries. We followed a Treasure Trail (can be bought online) which takes you off the beaten track so you discover more about the town. Is a bit hilly in places.

I've being going to Shrewsbury over many years. I love the town. Lots of choice where to eat and plenty of old pubs to try. Alot of the old independent shops, have gone similar to many other town centres. A sad result of how people want to shop. I find the history of the town intoxicating to think that its hundreds of years of people walking the old cobble streets and living in the gorgeous old ramshackle buildings.

Shrewsbury was much nicer better than I was expecting, with many historic buildings, some excellent shops restaurants and bars and very scenic areas along the river. We combined a short river cruise with lunch at St Vincent, which was excellent - possibly the best burger ever and superb value for money

Excellent hotel in a great location in the town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but it was warm and clean. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice - cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt and various cooked breakfast options. We would definitely stay there again and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone wanting to stay in Shrewsbury.

The communication with Steve was excellent. Everything was laid out perfectly. The location was just right, only a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The flat itself was beautiful, far better than any hotel room. We will definitely use it again when we return to Shrewsbury.

Really cool, historic hotel right in Shrewsbury's centre. Ideal if you're wanting to spend the evening/night in the town but don't fancy a big trek back to your hotel. The room we stayed in was clean and as I side note I loved the furniture. Highly recommend.
