Not as good as I thought. So many fish and chip shop and not alot of anything else. Mablethorpe has a lovely beach, a little place where you can have a cuppa and watch the dogs playing on the beach. I love to see the sunrise out of the sea at Skegness. A nice promenade and beach side path for walking/cycling. . I travelled to Skegness to watch Katie Hopkins at the Embassy Theater, it was through her recommendation that I booked the Savoy Hotel, on the Friday evening. You either Love or Hate Skegness, we love it. Plenty to do even if the weather is poor. People are all friendly. The shopping is good, lots of places to eat, some lovely cafe's and good traditional "greasy spoons". Could feed a family of four quite easily if on a limited budget. Just a nice traditional seaside holiday. We are animal lovers so use Skegness as a base to visit, Lincolnshire Wildlife Park a twenty minute drive away and Lincoln Zoo which is on our way home. Alan and Jackie made us feel really welcome on arrival with a cup of coffee. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable but the best thing of all was the cooked breakfast. I'm not normally a fried bread fan but I was persuaded to have it and I wasn't disappointed - definitely a speciality. Lots of free parking which is always a plus.
