Stafford town centre has, like a lot of other areas, a number of empty shops but, it also has a number of unique specialist shops. We left car at apartment & caught bus into centre. Only problem was we waited at stop we'd been dropped off at, when we had to go around the corner to catch bus back. We ate at The Holmforth pub just along road from apartment. Very nice, clean city. The flower displays along the main streets were well kept and very colourful! The Victoria Gardens are a delight with lovely bird houses and a glasshouse. Some interesting Historical buildings most notably the Witherspoon's which was a lovely old cinema and beautiful inside. Stafford's new history centre and a traditional pub called the Shrewsbury Arms. Great local Ales and a good old crusty cheese and onion cob. Friendly and informative landlord. No shortage of take aways and we did enjoy a nice Nepalese meal.
