This is an old-school inn, in the very best sense: spotless, lovely decor, in-house restaurant and even a lounge with a wood fire, where guests and visitors could have afternoon tea or evening ale. The staff to a one were hard working but very personable. Though the weather dampened my hopes for more hiking, it was always a warm respite I found returning to the Lodge.

For room, a lot of care is made to ensure comfort of guests, eg. the wooden toilet seat, the free coffee and drinks, etc. For breakfast, they are delicious and the serving is generous. I am overfed! Dinner is really value for $$, the variety offer breaks monotony.

We loved our room despite having to reach it by narrow stairs, but staff helped so it wasn't a problem. A 500 year old pub with atmosphere. Comfortable bed, great bath. Breakfast was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. Would stay again. Great location, free parking close by.

    Our stay in Stow-on-the-Wold was charming and peaceful – cobbled streets, cosy tea rooms, and friendly locals at every turn. We wandered through antique shops, enjoyed hearty pub meals, and soaked in the Cotswolds’ timeless beauty. The perfect blend of relaxation and little adventures. Oh, and the cocktails! 🍸 We’ll definitely be back.

    Beautiful, characterful village.

    Beautiful, characterful village. If you’re looking for somewhere picturesque to relax with lots of quality food and drink I couldn’t recommend Stow on the Wold any stronger. Visit Folletto while you’re there. A newly opened, family run bar with amazing quality pastries and drinks and the best hosts!

    You get a vibrant Cotswold town - what more do you want?

    You get a vibrant Cotswold town - what more do you want? Traffic in summer can be painfully slow. Do not rely on taxis as they are non-existent and so hard to get. For a night out I recommend a nominated driver in your party if you wish to go out of town.

    Stow is a lovely small town - picturesque and lots of shops, including a great charity shop. We ate at the Sheep Inn in Sheep street. Great food, great ambience, turned the music down at our request

    Stownes is an exceptional apartment right in the heart of beautiful Stow on the Wold. It exudes luxury and every little detail has been thought of. We have stayed in Stow many times and this was by far the best place we have ever stayed. Jane, the host, went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one, by providing a lovely welcome package, stocked cupboards and a drinks bar. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very cosy and comfortable. We would highly recommend Stownes as a fantastic place to stay when visiting The Cotswolds.

    The hotel and staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food was exceptional both at breakfast and especially the evening meal in the restaurant. For visiting the area and attractions in this part of the Cotswolds the hotel is well placed and has ample parking in the car park.

    Beautiful house with touches of luxury! Immaculate and clean! Super close to the pubs, restaurants and shops in Stow on the Wold. Perfect for group of friends staying for the weekend, it was just fabulous. A great time had by all! The hot tub was a lovely bonus.
